PIMS Confirms Imran Khan’s Eye Treatment, Fourth Injection Administered

The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) has confirmed that PTI founder Imran Khan was brought to the hospital late last night for a scheduled follow-up related to his ongoing eye treatment.

In an official statement, the hospital administration said the former prime minister was administered the fourth dose of an anti-VEGF intravitreal injection as part of a day-care procedure, after his formal consent was obtained.

The treatment is part of a continuing medical plan aimed at improving his eye condition.

According to PIMS, a team of ophthalmologists examined the patient before the procedure and found him to be medically stable. Diagnostic imaging, including optical coherence tomography, showed clinical improvement, indicating a positive response to the treatment.

The injection was administered in the operation theatre under standard medical protocols. Hospital officials said the patient remained stable throughout the procedure and during the post-treatment observation period. After completion, he was discharged with detailed medical advice, follow-up instructions and supporting documentation.

Medical sources said the procedure was carried out by a specialist team that included Dr Muhammad Arif and Dr Nadeem Qureshi.

Doctors involved in the treatment noted that the patient’s eyesight had improved compared to earlier assessments, and overall eye health showed encouraging signs of recovery.

Sources added that Imran Khan had received his third injection approximately a month ago, and the latest dose was administered to further strengthen the treatment outcome. His general health was also reported to be satisfactory, and a fitness report has been prepared.

Following the completion of the medical process, Imran Khan was transferred back to Adiala Jail, where the medical report will be formally shared with jail authorities for record and follow-up purposes.
