The squad features a blend of seasoned campaigners, returning pace options, and two uncapped players who have earned their first Test call-ups.

Among the notable inclusions are Tanzid Hasan and Amite Hasan, both of whom are yet to debut in Test cricket. Tanzid has already established himself in Bangladesh’s limited-overs setup, featuring in more than 30 ODIs and over 40 T20Is, while amassing nearly 2,000 international runs. Amite Hasan, a 24-year-old middle-order batter, brings strong First-Class credentials, averaging close to 50 since his debut in 2019.

The pace attack receives a boost with the return of Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam, both of whom last featured in Test cricket in 2024. Their comeback is expected to strengthen Bangladesh’s fast-bowling options alongside Ebadot Hossain and Nahid Rana.

In the spin department, Nayeem Hasan has been recalled, adding depth alongside Taijul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

The first Test will be played from May 8 to 12 in Dhaka, while the second match is scheduled for May 16 to 20 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Both fixtures form part of the ongoing World Test Championship cycle, making the series an important opportunity for Bangladesh to improve their standings.
