The long-teased wedding of Cassie Howard and Nate Jacobs in Euphoria Season 3 finally arrives in Episode 3 — and it delivers exactly what fans expected: beauty, excess, and emotional collapse wrapped in spectacle.
Anticipation surrounding the episode had been building for months after leaked set photos showed Sydney Sweeney in a wedding dress, fueling speculation about Cassie’s future with Nate.
That buzz intensified further when viewers learnt Cassie had issued an ultimatum demanding $50,000 worth of flowers for the ceremony — a request the production ultimately exceeded in dramatic fashion.
The wedding marks one of the first major ensemble moments of Season 3, bringing together characters whose storylines have largely unfolded in isolation so far. Series creator Sam Levinson described the sequence as both ambitious and emotionally loaded, noting that the large cast and elaborate staging made the shoot complex but rewarding.
“It was beautiful, but it was also chaotic,” Levinson said in an interview. “The tone lives somewhere between comedy and tragedy — which felt right for these characters.”
That balance is carried by performances from Sweeney and Jacob Elordi, who lean fully into the tension simmering beneath the surface of what appears, at first glance, to be a dream wedding.

The episode also marks the return of Eric Dane’s Cal Jacobs, who re-enters the story with complicated emotional baggage and unresolved ties to Jules. Levinson reflected warmly on Dane’s performance, calling his work this season deeply affecting and memorable.
Visually, the wedding is designed to overwhelm. Production designer François Audouy transformed the venue into a lavish display of blush tones, creams, and pinks — a color palette meant to reflect Cassie’s romantic idealism while subtly hinting at the emptiness beneath it.
Audouy explained that the extravagance was intentional. The flowers, sourced from across the U.S. and overseas, totaled more than 25,000 stems across the ceremony and reception, far surpassing Cassie’s fictional budget demand. The scale, he said, was meant to symbolize a culture obsessed with appearances, even as relationships rot from within.
“The idea was that if the outside is beautiful enough, people stop questioning what’s happening on the inside,” Audouy noted. “That’s very much Cassie’s mindset.”
Additional touches — from monogrammed floral arrangements to oversized ice sculptures — were inspired by Instagram and Pinterest aesthetics, reflecting the aspirational imagery Cassie would realistically be consuming. The result is a wedding that feels seductive and hollow at the same time, a visual metaphor for the couple’s fragile foundation.
Despite achieving her fantasy on paper, Cassie’s dream quickly reveals its cracks. As the episode progresses, a sense of dread replaces celebration, culminating in a brutal reminder that Nate’s financial and personal debts cannot be escaped.
The fallout doesn’t erupt during the ceremony itself but waits until the couple returns home, turning what should be the start of married life into a moment of violence and reckoning.
Audouy described the wedding and the couple’s retro home as parallel symbols — both beautiful, both nostalgic, and both disconnected from reality. Together, they represent a pair chasing fantasy without considering consequences.
“They’re not living in the real world,” he said. “They’re living inside a dream, and Episode 3 shows what happens when that dream collapses.”
New episodes of Euphoria Season 3 air Sundays on HBO, with Episode 3 standing out as one of the season’s most visually striking and emotionally devastating chapters yet.
