Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the “Maryam Ko Batayein” Helpline 1000, a dedicated financial relief initiative aimed at supporting deserving and financially vulnerable families during the holy month of Ramadan.
The programme is designed to provide immediate cash assistance to households facing acute financial hardship, reinforcing the provincial government’s commitment to social protection and targeted welfare.
Rs. 10,000 Emergency Financial Assistance Within 24 Hours
Under the initiative, eligible applicants will receive Rs. 10,000 within 24 hours after successful verification. Citizens can apply for assistance through multiple channels to ensure accessibility and ease of use:
-
Calling Helpline 1000
-
Submitting details via the official mobile application
-
Applying through the online web portal
Applicants are required to register using their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) number.
Transparent Verification Through PSER and BISP
To maintain transparency and prevent duplication, all applications will be verified through the Punjab Socio-Economic Registry (PSER) and cross-checked with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) database.
Officials clarified that financial assistance will be provided only to eligible families who are not already benefiting from other government relief or social safety programmes.
Targeted and Accountable Ramadan Support System
According to the chief minister, the Maryam Ko Batayein Helpline 1000 has been developed as a fast, transparent, and data-driven system to ensure that government assistance reaches genuinely deserving families without delays.
The initiative reflects Punjab’s broader strategy to strengthen social welfare, digital governance, and poverty alleviation, particularly during Ramadan when household expenses traditionally increase.
