Government issues list of certified Umrah companies to prevent fraud.
In order to prevent Umrah pilgrims from fraudulent practices, the federal government has released an official list of certified Umrah companies.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs published a list of 113 certified Umrah operators, valid for the Islamic year 1447 Hijri.
The list is available on the ministry’s official website, where pilgrims can verify company details before making bookings.
Officials said the step is meant to reduce the risk of exploitation by unauthorised agents and provide pilgrims with trusted options.
Guidelines for pilgrims
The ministry has advised Umrah pilgrims to carefully verify operators through its website before making any travel arrangements.
A spokesperson stressed that all payments should be deposited into the certified company’s bank account.
Pilgrims must also ensure they receive both a payment receipt and a copy of the agreement from the company.
