Why has PIA banned photos and videography during flights?

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Thursday announced to impose a ban on photography and videography on mobile phones during flights.

The national flag carrier had already started implementation of the decision.

The sources maintained that the ban would include actions against those who captured the videos or the photographs of other passengers, incidents or anything that fell under harassment or unethical conduct.

“This prohibition is in line with global aviation practices,” the spokesperson stated.

The ban would be particularly strict on photography during critical phases of international flights, such as takeoff and landing.

According to the sources within the national airline, the restriction is being implemented to protect passengers and prevent unauthorized videos, photography and any potential emergencies.

The spokesperson said that the announcement of the ban on photography and videography would also be made during the flights.

Pakistan International Airlines is an international airline which is the government-owned flag carrier of Pakistan.

Its primary hub is Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, while Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore and Islamabad International Airport serve as secondary hubs.
