According to the report, Shami’s mother was initially admitted to a local hospital for a checkup and was later transferred to another health center for further treatment.
The latest update suggests that her condition is now stable. Shami’s cousin, Dr. Mumtaz, conveyed to The Times of India, “She was admitted to the hospital due to fever and nervousness. Now, her condition is normal.”
Despite the personal challenges, Shami concluded the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as the tournament’s leading wicket-taker, showcasing an outstanding performance that etched his name in the history books.
Having missed the first half of the competition, Shami made a significant impact in India’s fifth league stage match against New Zealand.
