This condemnation follows Pakistan’s disappointing exit from the 2023 World Cup, where they failed to restrict England to a manageable total and fell short in chasing the target needed to surpass New Zealand in net run rate.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Raja pinpointed concerns in the bowling department, questioning the bowlers’ inability to make breakthroughs with the new ball and their tendency to concede runs at an alarming rate.
He further scrutinized the decision-making process within the PCB, expressing dismay at the recurrent changes in captaincy and coaching staff without addressing underlying issues.
Raja called for an end to the practice of leaking news and making statements during critical events, stressing the need for a more strategic and cohesive approach.
The former PCB chairman did not mince words in his criticism of Tauseef Ahmed, the newly-appointed interim chief selector, highlighting Ahmed’s past negative comments about key players such as Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
