A court has sentenced a man to life in prison for raping a Swedish woman in the federal capital last year.
Additional Meetings In his verdict, Judge Humayun Dilawar stated that the convict would be imprisoned until his death. Rana Hassan Abbas, a public prosecutor, represented the victim in the case.
The victim, a Swedish national, had recorded his statement to the investigation officer and magistrate, and the suspect’s DNA had also matched.
Last year, police arrested the man, who was working as a security guard at the victim’s home, after the Swedish woman filed a complaint at the Abpara police station.
Police had registered a case under sections 376 and 377 of the Pakistan Penal Code and launched investigations into the matter. The victim, who worked for an organization in the United Nations, said the security guard entered his bedroom on the night of June 6, 2022, and raped her.
