The athlete tweeted about the procedure and his recovery to let his followers know he is doing better.

“Today I had an appendectomy, but, thank God, I feel better. Keep me in mind when you pray,” Shaheen wrote.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, on November 14, Shaheen had previously been given a two-week rehabilitation recommendation.

When scooping Harry Brook’s catch during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 championship match on Sunday in Melbourne, the lanky bowler fell awkwardly.

The team’s departure for Pakistan on Monday morning was preceded by a scan, which revealed no signs of an injury.

According to the PCB, the discomfort in the knee was probably caused by a forced knee flexion during landing.

The scans were evaluated by Australian knee expert Dr. Peter D’Alessandro and PCB Chief Medical Officer Dr. Najeebullah Soomro, and it was comforting to know there was no harm.

The left-arm fast bowler is happier and feeling better, it was noted.

The PCB has also stated that the medical staff would decide when the left-arm bowler can return to the cricket field.

Following his return to Pakistan, Shaheen will participate in a conditioning and rehabilitation program at the National High Performance Centre that is intended to strengthen his knee, according to the press release.

It went on to say that Shaheen’s comeback to international cricket would depend on the champion fast bowler’s successful completion of the rehabilitation program and the subsequent approval of the medical personnel.

As Shaheen Shah Afridi undergoes appendix surgery, the three-match Test series against England on home soil, which begins on December 1, is marked as Pakistan’s next international destination.
