Slain PTI worker Moazzam Gondal’s family meets Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Punjab government declared on Saturday that they will each provide Rs5 million to the grieving family of Moazzam Gondal.

When Moazzam was shot on Thursday during an attempt to kill PTI chairman Imran Khan, he was taking part in the long march with his boys.

The family of the deceased PTI activist met with PTI Chief Imran Khan on Saturday in Lahore’s Shaukat Khanum Hospital at the request of the PTI leader. The deceased worker’s brother, mother, and three children made up the family. In a separate announcement from the Punjabi government and the PTI party, Imran Khan offered the grieving family a financial relief package worth Rs 50 lakh.

Fawad Chaudhry and Hammad Azhar, two PTI leaders, previously met with Moazzam’s family in Wazirabad. Nawaz Gondal, the father of Moazzam, received the check for the compensation sum from them. The PTI leaders assured Moazzam’s family that the group will keep providing financial support in the future.
