Al-Shaheer Corporation Limited (ASC), a significant meat exporter, announced on Tuesday that it had become the first Pakistani enterprise to sign a business connection agreement with McDonald’s Pakistan for the supply of beef products.

According to sources, the company said that the beef products would be delivered through its Lahore-based plant for frozen foods in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

It was announced in the PSX notice that ASC was the first company ever in Pakistan to sign a business connection arrangement with McDonald’s Pakistan for the supply of beef products.

The fact that McDonald’s Pakistan is interested in the company “is a testimonial to its commitment to sustaining international standards and creating top-of-the-line products,” claims ASC.

The information on ASC’s LinkedIn page states that the company was established as a partnership in 2008 with the opening of an abattoir in Gadap Town, Karachi. At first, the business only sent red meat to Dubai and Saudi Arabia.

When Al-Shaheer Foods joined the local fresh meat market in 2010, Meat One, Pakistan’s first red meat brand, was established. Khaas, a budget brand, debuted in 2014 with a marketing strategy focused on neighbourhood butcher shops.

Major export markets include Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Qatar. Locally, it is most common in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.

The beginning of commercial operations at ASC’s frozen food facility was announced last year.
