The US dollar gained 83 paisas against the Pakistan rupee on the first day of the business week, and by 12 noon it had crossed the psychological mark of Rs199 once more in intrabank trading.
The US dollar increased by Rs1.88 to Rs199.80 from Rs197.92.
The previous week’s closing price for the US dollar was Rs197.92.
According to forex traders, the Pakistani rupee will remain under pressure until an agreement is reached between the government and the international lender IMF.
The situation in intrabank trading may remain volatile and uncertain until the federal budget is presented.
