Barrister Fahad Malik’s mother appeals SC to take suo motu on his murder

Recently Maleeha Soomro, the mother of Barrister Fahad Malik, filed a petition in Supreme Court to take suo motto against the Additional and Session judge (ASJ), Zafar Iqbal, in Barrister Fahad Malik case. The ruling judge Zafar Iqbal is not trustworthy to the family of Barrister Fahad Malik, as he is facilitating the killers of Barrister Fahad.

Barrister Fahad Sohrab Malik was attacked on 15th August 2016 in Sector F-10, Islamabad by known murderers. The case was tried under Anti-terrorism Act, 1997. Later, the apex court deleted the act from FIR and shifted the case to the lower court under the hearing of ASJ Zafar Iqbal. The case was also presented before the Supreme Court bench, headed by Justice Umar Atta Bandial and two other justices Faisal Arab and Ijaz ul Ahsan.

The family of Barrister Fahad Malik has demanded their constitutional rights in a petition to the Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan. The family members have requested to Supreme Court to transfer the case to a highly credible judge. Also, they have asked to establish a larger bench to try cases under the clause of Anti-terrorism. Lastly, they have appealed to appoint a monitoring judge due to the extremely violent nature of the offenders and to ensure the speedy dispensation of justice.
