In a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Faisal Chaudhry requested that Hamza Shehbaz be barred from serving as Punjab Chief Minister.
“Hamza Shehbaz has lost his majority in Punjab as a result of the election commission’s decision,” the letter states.
“The election commission de-seated 25 dissident parliamentarians while deciding on a reference against them,” it continues.
“The election commission should issue a notification de-notifying the dissident members,” it says.
“New MPAs should be issued notifications on reserved seats based on the new list,” it says.
The PTI also submitted names to the election commission for five reserved seats.
According to Faisal Chaudhry’s letter, it has been requested that Batool Janjua, Saira Raza, and Fauzia Abbas be appointed as PTI MPAs on women’s reserved seats.
Similarly, Habakkuk Gill and Samuel Yaqub should be nominated as PTI MPs on minority-reserved seats.
