In a selection board meeting presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the federal government promoted 31 bureaucrats to grade 22 — the highest service grade for government servants.
The selection board meeting, which began yesterday in Islamabad, will continue today (Thursday) to review the promotion cases of the Pakistan Police Service (PSP).
In this regard, the Cabinet Division issued a notification.
Dr. Syed Tauqir Hussain Shah, Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary, was also promoted.
Promotions occurred in nine service cadres: Customs Service, Inland Revenue Service, Pakistan Railways (C&T) group, Foreign Service of Pakistan, Pakistan Information Group, Commerce and Trade group, Military Land and Cantonment group, and Intelligence Bureau.
In the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) group, 18 officers were promoted: Dr Rashid Mansoor, Dr Tauqir Hussain, Dr Ismet Tahira, Bushra Aman, Zulfiqar Haider Khan, Naveed Allauddin, Hamid Yaqoob, Dr Iftikhar Ali Shalwani, Zafar Ali Shah, Farhan Aziz Khawaja, Dr Fakhar-i-Alam Irfan, Saif
Mazhar Javed, Sardar Shuja Alam, and Babar Amin were promoted to the Foreign Service of Pakistan (FSP) group.
Suraiya Ahmed Butt and Dr Ahmad Mujtaba Memon were promoted in the Pakistan Customs Service (PCS).
Amir Ali Khan Talpur, Dr Faiz Illahi Memon, and Asim Ahmed were promoted to Inland Revenue Service (IRS) officers.
Zafar Zaman Ranjha of the Railways group, Saeed Javed of the Information group, Syed Rafeo Bashir Shah of the Commerce and Trade group, Naeem Jan Khan of the Military Land and Cantonments group, and Fuad Asadullah Khan of the IB were also promoted to grade 22.
