A Special Central Court in Lahore issued a written verdict on the April 27 hearing of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz in the Rs16 billion money laundering case, in which it was decided to continue the trial despite the plea of FIA Special Prosecutor Sikander Zulqarnain Saleem.
A Special Central Lahore court has ordered Prime Minister Shehbaz and Punjab Chief Minister Hamza to appear in court at all costs.
The written verdict stated that the Lahore Special Court would indict Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz on May 14 and that both should appear in court at the next hearing.
According to media reports, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) decided not to charge Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz in the money laundering case on Wednesday, just three days before a special Lahore court was set to frame charges against the N leaders.
Mohammad Rizwan, the former FIA director who investigated the charges against Shehbaz and his son, died of a heart attack earlier this week.
