Frist phase of LB polls in Sindh from June 26 next

The first phase of Sindh’s local body elections will be held on June 26th and the returning officers (ROs) will issue public notices on May 10th (tomorrow).

Nomination papers for candidates must be submitted to the relevant ROs between May 10 and May 13.

On July 24, 2022, Sindh’s 16 districts will vote in local body elections.

In Karachi West and Kimari, the process of drawing up constituencies for the upcoming local elections has been ongoing since April 18.

The election commission stated that “work on constituency delimitation will be completed on May 31.”

Elections for Balochistan’s Local Bodies

Balochistan’s upcoming local elections have received a new set of candidate lists.

These lists have been displayed in the ROs’ respective offices.

As of Monday (today), “candidates may withdraw their candidature for the local bodies’ elections,” according to the election commission.

Election symbols and the final candidate list will be announced on May 10th, according to the statement.

In addition to Quetta and Lasbela, local elections will be held on May 29 in 32 districts across Balochistan, according to the announcement.

“The election schedule for Quetta and Lasbela local bodies will be announced later,” it stated.
