Under the initiative, 1.25 million low-income households across Punjab will receive Rs3,000 per month through a digital smart ration card. The assistance can be used to purchase essential food items such as flour, rice, sugar, and ghee from utility stores and registered karyana shops.
Officials said the fully digital system ensures transparency and eliminates the need for beneficiaries to stand in long queues for ration support.
