Punjab Government Announces Motor Transport Policy 2026 for All Departments

The Punjab government has announced the Motor Transport Policy 2026 following approval by the provincial cabinet.

The policy will apply to all government departments across Punjab. Under the new guidelines, the acquisition of electric vehicles will now require prior approval from the Finance Department.

The policy also specifies that vehicles will be allocated to officers of grade 17 and above, while the petrol allowance for all officers has been increased by 25 litres.

The Department of Services, General Administration, and Coordination (S&GAD) has formally issued the notification, making the policy effective across all relevant provincial departments.
