Arshad Nadeem wins gold again at National Games

Javelin star Arshad Nadeem claimed the gold medal for the second consecutive time at the National Games, throwing an impressive 81.81 meters.

The javelin throw final featured 16 athletes, with the top eight qualifying for the last three rounds of the competition. Arshad once again showcased his dominance, securing the top spot and delighting fans with his performance.

The 35th edition of the National Games is currently underway in Karachi, celebrating Pakistan’s top sporting talent across multiple disciplines.

After the win, the Olympic gold medalist expressed his happiness over the ongoing National Games in Karachi, calling it a ‘major event for young athletes’.

Speaking to the media, the superstar said, “I also progressed in my career through events like these. I hope many athletes will follow a similar path and make Pakistan proud.”

“At the National Games, my focus was on winning the gold medal rather than attempting a huge throw,” he explained. Arshad also mentioned that he regularly trains with a large number of young athletes, sharing tips and mentoring them, including his younger brother during competitions.

Looking ahead, he said his primary goal is the 2028 Olympics. “Right now, my focus is fully on preparing for the next Olympics,” he stated.
