Balochistan Announces New Curriculum for All Classes

The Balochistan Education Department has announced a change to the curriculum for the new academic year. The department has introduced major changes from primary to higher secondary levels.

Under the new plan, Nazra Quran and Quran-with-translation will be formally included in the syllabus from Class 1 to Class 12. For students of Classes 6 to 8, new Computer Education textbooks will be introduced, replacing older editions that no longer meet modern digital skills.

In addition, the department has approved separate textbooks for Classes 6 to 12 to promote positive and responsible use of social media.

Earlier, the Punjab Education Curriculum Training and Assessment Authority (PECTAA) had also decided to replace 29 textbooks for middle and high classes in the next academic year.

According to officials, textbooks from Classes 6 to 9 will be changed, with Class 9 set to see the biggest revision, with 18 books being replaced. The authority has already started work on preparing the new books.

PECTAA has also issued a letter to all educational institutions, informing them of the upcoming changes. The authority has also advised publishers to prepare new printing orders to ensure the timely availability of revised textbooks.
