On Tuesday, Aun Chaudhry, a member of the PTI’s Jahangir Tareen Group, was appointed as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s adviser.
Earlier, the Cabinet Division drafted the summary for Aun Chaudhry’s appointment as Adviser to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Youth Affairs.
Aun, a former close associate of former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, has thrown his support behind ‘estranged’ PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen after relations between the two soured a few months ago.
Tareen formed a group of dissidents within the PTI, of which Aun is a member, and whose support became extremely important for both the PTI and the opposition parties ahead of the vote on the no-trust motion, which eventually took place on the night of April 9 and 10, 2022.
