Shahbaz reaches Karachi on his first official visist as PM

Shehbaz Sharif, the newly-elected Prime Minister, arrived in Karachi for the first time on Wednesday after taking the oath of office.

Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the prime minister will first pay his respects at Quaid’s mausoleum during his daylong visit to the Sindh capital.

“He will then chair a meeting at Sindh House, which will also be attended by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and government officials,” she said, adding that Shehbaz will be briefed on the city’s development projects at the meeting.

Later, Marriyum said, the PM would go to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) headquarters in Bahadurabad, where he would thank the party leadership for voting for him in the prime ministerial election, as well as hold discussions with them about how to resolve the issues that residents of the provincial capital face.
