ISLAMABAD: Following the removal of former Prime Minister Imran Khan from office, the PML-N and PPP announced on Sunday that they will hold by-elections if a large number of PTI MNAs resign from the National Assembly.
“By-elections would be held for vacant seats if the PTI members resign en masse,” PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal said on Geo News’ Naya Pakistan.
Concerning the elections, he stated that the strategy was consistent with what the PTI government had previously stated when there was talk of en bloc resignations from the PDM platform. The PML-N leader, on the other hand, believed that the majority of PTI members would oppose this.
“Imran has many unelected advisers who give him such ideas.” Poor advice like this has led to his downfall. In fact, the PTI lacks the numerical clout to shock the entire system. “New elections will be held if the PTI disrupts the system in KP,” he added.
Meanwhile, the PPP stated that it does not believe in vindictive politics and that if the PTI resigned, by-elections would be held to fill the vacancies. PPP Information Secretaries Shazia Marri and Faisal Karim Kundi addressed a press conference to congratulate the nation on the success of the no-confidence motion.
“Through democratic means, we were able to remove an incompetent and insensitive government.” PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari led a public march against the chosen government, and despite the PTI staging numerous dramas to maintain power, the no-confidence motion was successful. “The PTI attempted to violate both the Constitution and the law,” she added.
“Now Imran Niazi is provoking people and trying to sell a false narrative,” Marri said. You must account for your actions before inciting the people, as the country cannot afford further division. Imran Khan praises India even more than Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He should retract his statement and stop praising India,” she said, adding that anything is possible from him. “Everyone knows Indian Prime Minister Modi’s hands are stained with Kashmiri blood,” she added.
Kundi stated that the former NA speaker would be remembered as a constitutional violator and that he should be tried under Article 6. “His team was present in parliament, but the captain fled.” “Imran Khan begged for an NRO until the last possible moment on Saturday night,” he claimed.
