ISLAMABAD: Fawad Chaudhry, the former federal minister for information and broadcasting, clashed with journalists during a press conference outside the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
Representatives of the media boycotted PTI leaders’ press conferences and demanded an apology from Chaudhry.
The incident occurred outside the Supreme Court as PTI leader and former planning and development minister Asad Umar addressed journalists during a press conference flanked by Fawad and other party leaders.
When a journalist questioned Fawad about Farah Khan, Fawad responded angrily, and the exchange quickly escalated into a heated argument.
While other journalists and media representatives attempted to mediate the situation, they were unable to do so peacefully. The former minister’s repeated derogatory remarks and refusal to apologize resulted in journalists boycotting all PTI leaders’ media appearances.
During the altercation, Fawad accused the journalist of accepting money from certain elements and referred to him as “kiraye ka aadmi [a man on rent]”.
