Shahid Afridi urges nation to support flood victims.
Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi urged people to stand by flood victims, calling it the “most beautiful form of worship” to help those in need.
Addressing an event in Islamabad, Afridi said he had personally seen the suffering of mothers, children, and animals amid the devastation.
Afridi recounted seeing children and animals forced to drink water from the same source and people walking 10 kilometres just to fetch a pot of water.

He appealed to the public to visit flood-hit communities, embrace the victims, and extend support during their hardships.
“I speak less and act more,” Afridi said, emphasising that governments should not run businesses but focus on serving people. Reflecting on his cricket career of more than two decades, he said while he initially played for himself, there comes a time when one must rise for others.
“We have embarked on this journey, and I ask everyone to join us in supporting those affected by the floods,” Afridi added.
