6 lions rescued during Ravi flood.
The Punjab Wildlife Department has rescued six lions trapped by rising floodwaters at a farmhouse near the Ravi River.
The operation was carried out on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and supervised by Wildlife Secretary Mudassir Riaz Malik.
Despite torrential rains and difficult conditions, wildlife teams successfully evacuated the stranded animals using four boats, supported by a group of veterinary doctors.
The lions were taken to a safe facility where they are undergoing medical examinations and round-the-clock monitoring.

Officials confirmed that the entire operation was completed without endangering human lives, even as flooding continues to wreak havoc across Punjab, inundating thousands of villages and farmland.
Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb praised the wildlife rangers for their dedication, noting that they put themselves at risk to protect endangered species. She reiterated that safeguarding wildlife remains a key priority for the Punjab government.
