PM Khan to preside over PTI’s political committee meeting today

As both the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition parties work feverishly to gain an advantage before voting on the no-trust motion in the National Assembly (NA), which is expected to take place next Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan will once again preside over the PTI’s political committee meeting in Islamabad today (Tuesday).

PM Imran will consult with members of his party over the nomination of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi for the position of Punjab Chief Minister.

Similarly, he would update the gathering on the status of contacts with the PTI government’s coalition partners as well as party defectors.

It is worth noting that, as the day for voting on the opposition’s no-confidence vote against the government approaches, the ruling party’s political committee meetings are becoming increasingly frequent.

PM Imran presided over one such gathering three days ago, on March 26, 2022.

The prime minister presided over the committee meeting two days ago, on March 24.

Another meeting was held six days earlier, on March 18.
