Deceased actress and model Humaira Asghar’s father has finally talked to the media for the first time since her months-old decomposed body was found in her Karachi apartment a week or so ago.
Speaking briefly to the media after Humaira Asghar’s burial in Lahore on Friday, her father said he was not ready to comment on the post-mortem report at this stage. He also clarified that Humaira’s mother maintained a close relationship with her, contrary to some reports suggesting otherwise.
He alsodenied circulating rumours about the alleged abandonment of Humaira’s body, calling them completely baseless. “How could anyone receive the body before a proper medical examination?” he questioned.

Concluding his remarks, he said, “Whatever happened to my daughter, Allah will hold those responsible to account.”
Funeral prayer of Humaira Asghar Ali
The funeral prayers of Humaira Asghar Ali were offered in Model Town’s Q Block Graveyard in Lahore after her body was found in a decomposed state in a Karachi apartment – at least eight months after her death.
According to her brother, Humaira’s body was flown from Karachi to Lahore on Friday and taken directly to the cemetery without being brought home.
Her final rites were performed amid sorrow and unanswered questions surrounding her mysterious disappearance and death.

The shhocking discovery of Humaira’s remains came when a bailiff entered her flat in Karachi to vacate the premises due to unpaid rent.
Inside, they found a decomposed body — later confirmed to be Humaira’s — lying behind closed doors, surrounded by rusted kitchen utensils, rotted food, and silence that had lingered for nearly a year.
