Senators allowed to carry prohibited weapons.
Members of Pakistan’s Senate, the upper house of parliament, will each receive one prohibited-bore arms license.
This announcement came from Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Interior.
Senator Palwasha Khan initially brought up the issue of delays in issuing arms licenses to parliamentarians.
In response, Minister Naqvi stated that every member of parliament would be issued a license.
He also mentioned that the number of available licenses would be increased for areas experiencing worsening law and order.
Moreover, Minister Naqvi ordered that individuals who paid fees for arms licenses during the previous government’s term but never received them would be refunded.
