Quetta police arrested around a dozen young physicians and paramedics who were holding a sit-in near the Chief Minister House in Red Zone for a solution to their problems.
The police opened the highways leading to the Red Zone while the demonstrators yelled slogans against the Balochistan chief minister.
The demonstrators were taken to the Bijli Road police station.
Following the arrests by police, the Young Doctors Association (YDA) planned a province-wide boycott of emergency services.
The physicians and paramedics were having a nonviolent sit-in, according to the YDA spokeswoman, and the government of Balochistan was not serious about resolving their complaints.
According to a YDA representative, young physicians and paramedics have to boycott emergency services, shutting down public hospital emergency rooms.
All medical services at public hospitals have also been suspended, according to the spokeswoman.
