On Thursday, an 18-year-old boxer died after being punched in the neck during a trial match hosted by the Karachi Division Boxing Association.
Tahir Baloch was recognized as the dead. He was a member of the Nadir Baloch Boxing Club and a native of Orangi Town’s Fareed Colony.
The trial match was conducted at IC Bridge at Benazir Boxing Club.
“There was no doctor in the ring during the trial match,” stated Abdul Majid Baloch, a former national boxing coach.
“Nadir Baloch was rushed to hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead,” he added.
“Incompetent instructors are there in the club for the trial matches of the national boxing team,” he deplored.
