Members of the ruling PTI’s unhappy Jehangir Khan Tareen group met with Punjab Assembly Speaker and PML-Q leader Pervaiz Elahi and informed him of the group’s minus-Buzdar agenda.
According to reports, a delegation from the JKT met with the Punjab assembly speaker in Lahore on Wednesday. The JKT wanted Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar removed from his position, according to the group’s commander, who is now receiving medical treatment in London.
JKT commander Malik Nouman Langrial said, “We are in contact with Jehangir Tareen and we are briefing him on the evolving situation.”
Aun Chaudhry, Lala Tahir Randhawa, Abdul Hayee Dasti, and Ajmal Cheema are among the JKT delegation.
The JKT delegation and Speaker Elahi met to discuss the political situation and other matters.
“It is a unanimous determination of our group that we would not accept Buzdar, who has betrayed the PTI’s real activists,” Langrial stated emphatically to Mr. Elahi.
Mr. Elahi, on the other hand, sought to calm him down by stressing that they were still assessing the matter.
Mr. Elahi promised the visitors, “We would decide everything after the mutual conversation with party leaders.”
According to sources in the media, Aleem Khan, the alienated PTI leader who announced his joining of the JKT group on Monday, was a contender for the Punjab chief ministership. He has also expressed his displeasure with the Punjab government’s governance approach.
Aleem Khan flew to London on Wednesday morning to meet with Jahangir Tareen, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Today, he flew to London from Islamabad International Airport.
JKT would not be a part of the no-confidence vote
According to the sources, MPA Rafaqat Gilani, a member of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-estranged Insaf’s Jahangir Khan Tareen (JKT) group from Layyah, said on Wednesday that while the group would not join the no-trust movement against the government, the latter should address its concerns.
He said it was sad that those PTI workers who had toiled hard for the party and were its assets had been sidelined in an exclusive interview with Rohi TV.
“We want to make the party stronger.” “Unfortunately, we are not being heard,” he lamented.
The MPA asked when the government will notice the situation and take the JKT group’s concerns into account.
