Jahangir Tareen to reach Pakistan on March 6

Jahangir Tareen, a key actor in the Opposition’s no-confidence move against Prime Minister Imran Khan, stated on Friday that he will arrive in Pakistan on March 6.

Tareen is undergoing medical treatment in London.

PTI leader Muhammad Salman Naeem, a member of the Punjab Assembly, claimed he met with the estranged leader and inquired about his health, adding that all of his medical reports were clean.

Tareen would arrive in Pakistan from the United Kingdom on March 6 and will be present when the Opposition files a no-confidence motion against the PTI-led government, he added.

PM Imran Khan had personally contacted Tareen to inquire about his health, according to Minister of Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

“It was brought to the Prime Minister’s attention that Jahangir Tareen was ill,” Qureshi stated.

According to sources, According to Geo News, Tareen spent a week in a private hospital in Lahore for medical treatment and will spend another week in London.

“I’m going for a medical examination,” Tareen told parliamentarians sympathetic to his plight. “But we must stay united and in touch.”

Ties that are sour

Investigations were begun against Tareen in 2020, following findings in a Sugar Inquiry Commission report, with tensions between the PTI leader and Prime Minister Imran Khan deteriorating.

Tareen’s adherents in the PTI created a breakaway faction the following year, which has recently made contact with the Opposition as it works to depose the administration.

PM Imran Khan’s chat with Tareen comes amid increased Opposition activity, including the PPP’s “Awami March” and the Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) attempt to file a no-confidence resolution against the prime.
