RAWALPINDI: An Indian submarine’s attempt to infiltrate Pakistani seas was prevented by the Pakistan Navy Anti-Submarine Warfare Unit, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
The latest Kalvari class Indian submarine was intercepted and tracked on March 1, according to a statement from the military’s media department.
The recent incident, which is the Pakistan Navy’s fourth discovery in the previous five years, demonstrates its expertise and will to safeguard Pakistan’s maritime borders, according to the ISPR.
Later, DG ISPR Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar said the Indian Navy deployed its submarine against Pakistan with ulterior purposes in a detailed statement.
“However, the Pakistan Navy has once again stopped an Indian submarine’s effort to enter Pakistani seas through sustained vigilance and professionalism,” he said.
The likelihood of an Indian unit creeping into the Pakistan Maritime Zone for reconnaissance and gathering intelligence on the ongoing Pakistan Navy Exercise SEASPARK-22 was expected, according to the DG ISPR, given the current security climate and the ongoing Pakistan Navy Exercise SEASPARK-22.
“As a result, strict monitoring and vigilance systems were implemented. As a result, the Pakistan Navy’s anti-submarine warfare unit seized the initiative and caught and tracked the latest Indian submarine, the Kalvari, ahead of schedule “he stated
In October of last year, the Pakistan Navy prevented an Indian submarine’s attempt to enter the Pakistani seas.
The incident occurred on October 16, according to the ISPR, and the Indian naval submarine was identified and tracked ahead of schedule by the PN Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft.
It was the third occurrence of its like, according to the ISPR, in which an Indian submarine was “prematurely discovered and followed by PN Long Range Maritime Patrol Aircraft.”
