PDM to present no-trust motion within 48 years

ISLAMABAD: PDM president Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Wednesday that the Opposition will file a no-confidence motion against the PTI-led government within 48 hours.

The JUI-F leader told the media in an informal conversation that the next two or three days are essential and will provide positive news.

According to Fazl, the opposition is on the same page and there is no disagreement among them.

“Opposition parties now trust each other and communicate with each other on a regular basis,” he said.

When asked if the no-confidence motion would succeed, the PDM leader informed Geo News that it would since there is no dispute among the Opposition parties, adding that he was 100 percent convinced of success.

The PDM’s leader went on to claim that the opposition had also finished its “homework.”

He went on to say that the PDM has amassed sufficient support for the resolution, and that “all Opposition parties unitedly want to bring down the administration.”

Shahbaz Sharif backs the no-confidence motion led by BNP leader Akhtar Mengal.

PDM has decided to join forces with PPP for the long march, according to sources.

“However, no discussions have taken place about the government that will be formed once the current one collapses,” he continued.

He went on to say that the Opposition has requested all of its lawmakers to arrive in Islamabad as soon as possible.

The Opposition has not received any backing from the “umpire,” according to the PDM leader, who also stated that they were not in communication with the establishment.

He explained, “I don’t know if the PML-N or the PPP is in contact with the establishment.”

When asked about what would happen if the no-trust motion were to pass, Fazl remained tight-lipped.

“Should we tell you everything ahead of time?” the PDM leader wondered, adding that there had been no discussion regarding forming the next government.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Fazl had already agreed to outline a coordinated plan against the government in Parliament.

Asif Zardari, the PPP’s co-chairman, had also assured Fazl of his full support for the Opposition’s no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The opposition declared last month that it will file a motion of no confidence against the ruling PTI administration.

Since the announcement, the opposition has begun contacting PTI government allies and disgruntled ruling party members.

Zardari, Fazl, and Shahbaz, the three key Opposition leaders, have also conducted many meetings to prepare a strategy on the motion.
