Malala Yousafzai has renewed her call for a ceasefire in Gaza following an Israeli airstrike that killed 16 people and injured dozens more at a United Nations school.
The school in the Nuserat refugee camp would provide shelter for thousands of displaced people.
Malala expressed her deep sorrow on X over the incident.
She urged the global community to remain vigilant against violations of international humanitarian law.
Malala Yousafzai said, “I’m devastated to see yet another Israeli strike on a school in Gaza. We cannot become numb to violations of international humanitarian law and look away from the loss of innocent lives.”
“I reiterate the urgent call for a lasting ceasefire,” she added.

The fight in southern Israel erupted on October 7 following a Hamas-led attack and resulted in many deaths.
The attack killed 1,200 people and took about 250 hostages, according to Israeli sources.
Gaza health officials report that more than 38,000 Palestinians have been killed and devastation has wreaked havoc in the region.
Despite the casualties, the chances for a ceasefire remain grim as Israel continues its war to oust Hamas.
