Pakistan is resolute and unshakeable in its commitment, says PM

ISLAMABAD: On the third anniversary of Pakistan’s Operation Swift Retort, Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan is resolute and unshakable in its commitment to the country’s security.

Pakistan is commemorating the third anniversary of an airstrike on intruding Indian jets in Azad Jammu and Kashmir on February 27, 2019, which resulted in the downing of two Indian fighter jets.

In Azad Jammu Kashmir, Indian pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman’s MiG-21 fighter was shot down in an aerial duel, and the Indian pilot was detained.

PM Imran Khan remarked on Twitter that he has always believed in peaceful conflict resolution through discussion and diplomacy.

However, the prime minister stressed that these characteristics should not be mistaken for Pakistan’s weakness, citing the country’s failed Indian air force incursion of Pakistani airspace on February 27, 2019.

Prime Minister Imran Khan stated that Pakistan’s armed forces, which are backed by the population, will always respond to any aggression directed at the country.

“I’ve always believed in resolving conflicts through diplomacy and conversation. That should never be interpreted as a sign of immaturity. As we demonstrated on February 27, 2019, when India chose to attack us, our armed forces, with the support of the public, would respond to my aggression and triumph at all levels “Prime Minister David Cameron sent a letter.

In a later Tweet, he continued, “We are resolute & unshakable in our commitment to the security of our country and our nation.”
