Three-day holiday has been finally approved for Eid ul Adha.

The federal government has declared a three-day holiday for Eid ul Adha, spanning from June 17 to June 19 on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has endorsed the proposal submitted by the Cabinet Division, facilitating nationwide preparations for the significant Muslim festival.

Eid ul Adha will be observed in Pakistan on June 17, following the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon on June 7.

This festival, occurring on the 10th day of Zil Hajj, also marks the culmination of the Hajj pilgrimage.

As the holiday approaches, cattle markets have sprung up across various regions, offering cows, goats, sheep, and camels for the traditional sacrificial rites.

This discount is applicable to all train types and classes, with the exception of the Eid special trains.

Eid al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice is the second of the two main holidays celebrated in Islam. In Islamic tradition, it honours the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command.
