We take you Inside Imran Khan’s Adiala Jail cell.
The federal government has recently presented documentary evidence to refute former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s assertions of being kept in solitary confinement at Adiala jail.
This submission, which includes photographs and detailed descriptions of the facilities provided to Khan, challenges his claims of being deprived of basic amenities and legal support.
During a recent hearing on amendments to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) law, Khan informed Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa that he was being held in solitary confinement and was not allowed to meet his legal team.
He stated, “They [jail authorities] do not let me meet my legal team. I am being kept in solitary confinement here. I neither have any material nor a library to prepare for the case.”
In response, the government submitted evidence showcasing the privileges given to Khan, highlighting that he is enjoying several facilities uncommon for regular inmates.

According to the government’s documentation, Khan, as a former prime minister, has access to an exercise bike, a stretching belt for physical fitness, books, a separate kitchen with a special menu, an exclusive gallery for walking, an LED television, a room cooler, and a study table.
The government’s submission to the court also included a detailed list of all individuals who have visited Khan, countering his claim of being denied access to his legal team.
The evidence paints a stark contrast between Khan’s allegations and the actual conditions of his detention.
The photographic and documentary evidence was shared with the court to “set the record straight,” showing that Khan’s situation is far from solitary confinement, and he is provided with amenities and privileges far exceeding those available to ordinary prisoners.

“…if this Court may deem appropriate and necessary, it may appoint a judicial officer in the form of a commission to verify the facts as submitted before this Court,” it said.
“It is, therefore, respectfully prayed that the instant application be allowed and the additional documents be placed before this Court for the record,” the government added.
