‘Bargainers’ would not be able to effect any change, says Rasheed

Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed warned on Friday that individuals involved in bargaining with the opposition would suffer such humiliation that they would be unable to restore their reputation.

The interior minister, speaking at a press conference, stated that Prime Minister Imran Khan will use the trump card against all the ‘bargainers,’ adding that he would emerge even harder once the no-confidence vote failed.

He also stated that Imran Khan’s five-year term as Prime Minister will be completed and that the ‘bargainers’ would be unable to effect any change. “When democracy becomes a business, the results are negative,” he warned.

The interior minister declared during a press conference that they would not put any obstacles in the way of the PPP’s long march from February 28 to Islamabad as long as it remained peaceful. “I met with Punjab’s chief minister to discuss security arrangements for the march,” he said.

He claimed that the no-trust move is without merit and that they have yet to decide whether to implement it in Punjab and the rest of the country. “Those who have started a political loot sale should keep in mind that Imran Khan has a trump card,” he remarked.

Sheikh Rasheed stated that the opposition needs 172 votes to pass their no-confidence motion and that Nawaz Sharif has tasked Asif Zardari with buying people. “These are folks who sang Vote ko Izzat Do slogans,” he explained, adding, “Fear of Imran Khan is pulling them closer together.”

He, on the other hand, stated that all allies are standing by Imran Khan and warned that those who abandon him will be unable to confront the public. He said, “They’re digging up their political grave.”

Sheikh Rasheed urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to approach Jahangir Tareen, saying that while he was not a friend of the estranged PTI leader when politicians with arch rivalries meet, Jahangir Tareen becomes Khan’s friend.
