She further added, “These individuals forcibly entered our premises, vandalized surveillance equipment, and forcibly took him away in a vehicle. Their identities remain unknown, and there is no information on his whereabouts.”
In response to the lack of action from local authorities, Naqvi has taken the matter to the Islamabad High Court (IHC), filing a petition to address Ahmad Farhad’s forced disappearance.
The news of Farhad’s abduction has sparked widespread concern within both journalistic and political circles, drawing attention to the alarming trend of attacks on media personnel and activists.
The deliberate destruction of surveillance equipment and the apparent lack of official response raise serious questions about the motives behind Farhad’s abduction and the efficacy of law enforcement in ensuring citizen safety.
IHC orders recovery of Ahmed Farhad
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court issued an order for the recovery of missing poet Ahmed Farhad Shah, directing the police to present him in court the following day.
The petition, filed by Shah’s wife for his recovery, was heard by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, with lawyers Iman Mazari and Hadi Ali Chatha representing the petitioner.
During the session, SSP Operations Jameel Zafar appeared before the court, stating that Shah, a journalist and poet, had disappeared from his Islamabad home the previous night.
The court was presented with a copy of the FIR, and the police mentioned efforts to review nearby cameras for clues.
Justice Kayani inquired about the responsible party for Shah’s disappearance and instructed the police to locate and bring him to court by the next day.
The court warned the police of accountability if they failed to recover Shah.
The hearing was adjourned till tomorrow.
