Simultaneously, a meeting of the PML-N’s central committee has been scheduled for May 18th in Lahore, commencing at 11:30 am.

This meeting is being convened in accordance with clause 15 of the party constitution, with notices sent out by PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal to notify members of the central committee.

It is important to mention here that the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was disqualified from holding any public position after being convicted in 2018.

However, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) acquitted him in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia references on November 29 and December 12 last year respectively. After his acquittal, the former PM contested General Elections 2024 and returned elected from NA-130 Lahore.
