In a tragic turn of events, Khuzdar district in Balochistan was struck by a devastating blast, claiming the life of esteemed senior journalist and Khuzdar Press Club president, Maulana Muhammad Siddique Mengal.

The explosion targeted Mengal’s vehicle, resulting in his untimely demise and leaving nine others wounded.

Authorities disclosed that the injured individuals have been swiftly transported to Khuzdar Teaching Hospital for urgent medical attention, while investigations into the incident are currently underway to ascertain its circumstances and perpetrators.

This recent Khuzdar blast follows a string of violent episodes in the region. Just yesterday, twin landmine explosions near Thaikedar Naddi in the Duki district rocked the province, resulting in one casualty and injuring a staggering 20 individuals.

The initial blast was triggered by a truck striking a landmine, followed by a secondary explosion as bystanders gathered at the scene.

Law enforcement officials have reported one fatality and 17 injuries from these landmine blasts, with victims receiving treatment at nearby medical facilities.

The incidents underscore the persistent security challenges facing Balochistan and the imperative for robust measures to address them.

In a separate tragic occurrence last month, a blast near a mosque on Quetta’s Kuchlak Road claimed the life of a valiant policeman and inflicted injuries upon 20 others, including several security personnel.

Among the casualties was an Eagle Squad official, highlighting the perilous nature of security operations in the area.

In response to these escalating threats, authorities have cordoned off affected areas and launched comprehensive investigations to uncover the motives behind these acts of violence.

The surge in terrorism activities in Balochistan emphasizes the pressing need for enhanced security protocols and collaborative efforts to safeguard the region’s residents and restore tranquility to volatile areas.
