PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif to ‘undergo health checkup’ in China.
Former Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), is scheduled to embark on a significant five-day “personal visit” to China starting on Monday.
Purpose of the Visit:
Sources within the PML-N revealed that Nawaz Sharif’s visit primarily revolves around personal matters, notably including a scheduled medical checkup.

Additionally, during his stay, Nawaz Sharif is expected to engage in meetings related to development initiatives in Punjab. Furthermore, he is slated to hold discussions with Chinese company representatives.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will Join Nawaz Sharif on this visit, enhancing the significance of the trip in terms of bilateral engagements.
First International Visit Since Return:
This visit marks Nawaz Sharif’s inaugural international trip since his return to Pakistan in 2023 following a self-imposed four-year exile in London.
Background:
As PMLN supremo Nawaz Sharif to ‘undergo health checkup’ in China, in November 2019, the Lahore High Court granted Nawaz Sharif permission to travel abroad for urgent medical treatment based on medical reports indicating a critical need for medical attention.
Subsequently, he relocated to the United Kingdom, residing in London until his return to Pakistan last year.
