Hafiz Naeem withdraws from the Sindh Assembly seat. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the prominent figure heading Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in Karachi, made a significant announcement on Monday, declaring his decision to relinquish his provincial assembly seat, PS-129.
In a press conference held in Karachi, Naeem attributed his decision to the fact that he did not secure the seat himself, rather it was clinched by a candidate backed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
During the press briefing, Naeem asserted that his PTI-supported rival emerged victorious in the election and underscored his unwillingness to hold a seat obtained through what he termed as “charity.”

Despite emerging triumphant in the Sindh Assembly contest for PS-129 during the February 8 general elections, Naeem acknowledged the victory of the PTI-backed candidate.
Declining to take the oath as a Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) for the seat, Naeem referred to Form 45, which indicated the victory of the PTI-affiliated contender, and insisted that the rightful winner should assume office.
He also highlighted disparities between the vote count recorded in Form 47 by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the actual number of votes he received.
Furthermore, Naeem vowed to continue the legal and political battle to reclaim what he referred to as “winning seats” lost by his party due to alleged rigging.
He criticized the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for purportedly failing to ensure a fair electoral process and chastised the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) for celebrating what he described as a “fake mandate.”
As Hafiz Naeem withdraws from Sindh Assembly seat, alleging irregularities, Naeem claimed that their polling agents were denied access to Form 45 and accused returning officers of engaging in rigging through Form 47.
