UK diplomat to Pakistan inaugurates ‘first British cafe‘ in Islamabad. British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, ceremoniously inaugurated the debut of the esteemed UK-based coffee chain, Costa Coffee, in Islamabad.
The event marked the third establishment of Costa Coffee in Pakistan, following two prior openings in Lahore.
Attendees were treated to complimentary servings of the renowned coffee, accompanied by an array of delectable brownies, cakes, and cookies.
In her statement to the media, Marriott expressed her delight at being present for the launch, underscoring Costa Coffee’s distinguished British heritage.
Originating 40 years ago in the United Kingdom, the brand now boasts an extensive network of two and a half thousand branches, with 59 being operated by their associates at Gerrys.
Sporting the cafe’s distinctive mufflers, Marriott took a seat in front of the illuminated Costa Coffee logo, emphasizing the establishment’s contribution of exceptional coffee and culinary delights not only to Islamabad but also to Lahore and Karachi.
“I just had a great cup of coffee and some wonderful chocolate brownies,” Marriott shared, encapsulating her positive experience at the inaugural event.
Following the ceremonial ribbon-cutting, the British envoy conducted a tour of the coffee shop, engaging with the staff and commending both the franchise’s interior aesthetics and the exemplary services rendered by its personnel.
