Five die in Dera Ismail Khan’s blast near a police van.

A bomb blast at Tank Adda in Dera Ismail Khan left 5 dead and more than 20 persons were injured here before Friday prayers, police and Rescue 1122 officials said.

Police and Rescue 1122 Officials said, before Friday prayers a bomb blast occurred at Tank Adda near Pawandah Bazaar.

After the blast, gunshots were also heard by the eyewitnesses.

The bomb blast left 5 dead and more than 20 injured.

As soon as the incident was reported, a heavy contingent of Police along with Rescue 1122 medical teams reached the spot and cordoned off the area.

The second Bomb Blast also occurred in Tehsil Kulachi’s area Takwarra of Dera Ismail Khan District.

The IED bomb exploded when a convoy of security forces passed from the site of planted bomb.

As a result of the blast, one policeman embraced martyrdom.

Terrorist attacks have increased in the country in recent months, following the TTP’s withdrawal from a ceasefire agreement with the government in November of last year.

On October 31, a police officer was killed when unknown militants attacked a police camp in Dera Ismail Khan. On the same day, two soldiers were killed in an IED explosion in South Waziristan.
