The suspect, Miles Joseph Fridrich, aged 24, stands accused of first-degree murder in the violent stabbing of Dr. Khan, who had recently moved to the apartment complex with her 14-year-old daughter.
The incident unfolded in broad daylight on a Saturday at 12:30 pm, witnessed by neighbors, some of whom attempted to intervene to stop the assault.
Matthew Amador, a neighbor and firefighter, courageously attempted to deter Fridrich using a Katana sword but was unable to prevent the tragic outcome.

The community quickly responded, with approximately 17 individuals emerging from their homes armed, and law enforcement promptly arrived at the scene. Fridrich was apprehended by the Conroe police following the incident.
